Read moreMixing Textures in The Living Room
Texture is the mix of different textiles, colours, materials and natural elements in a space. This creates a look that the space is done or finished as well as makes it feel homey.
In this living room, we’re sharing how we added texture to create a balanced and relaxing living room space.
Design Tip #1: Vertical lines
Vertical textures in a rug elongate the space and draw your eyes towards a focal point. Statement rugs really ground the space, allowing your furniture to pop, and not hide away in the background.
Design Tip #2: Try nesting coffee tables
Nesting coffee tables are not only practical, but they also add depth and a sense of height to a space which makes it very visually pleasing! Overall resulting in a well-balanced space.
Design Tip #3: Add natural elements
To add texture and a pop of colour, source some natural foliage. Place them in a large/statement vase to add height and interest to your space.
Design Tip #4: Mixing prints
Be inspired by your favourite prints, pull colours from them that you can use throughout your space, like in vases and cushions.
